Side by Side TV is an innovative video series that merges English language instruction and entertainment. It provides learners with an exciting, motivating, and enjoyable experience through television. Side by Side TV is based on Books 1 & 2 of the Side by Side series, but it may be used independently or as an accompaniment to any series for beginning and high-beginning students.

- Program highlights include comedy sketches, game shows, news broadcasts, commercials, talk shows, cooking shows, spoofs of TV shows, on-the-street interviews, music videos, and GrammarRaps.
- The multicultural repertory cast is a diverse professional ensemble. Each member of the cast plays a wide range or characters. They have fun with the material and convey a spirit of warmth and enthusiasm. The goal is for students to become inspired by the videos to use English confidently and playfully.

- Side by Side Interactive Workbooks include a rich variety of exercises and activities based on each video scene, complete video scripts, a summary of structures and functions, and key vocabulary.
- Reference Guides presents strategies for engaging students in active viewing that turns each scene into a springboard for student interaction. Strategies are offered for predicting, checking viewing comprehension, listening and speaking practice, focus on grammar, functions, vocabulary, and pronunciation, cultural awareness, writing, role playing, and testing and evaluation.
